Community

We are proud to play our part in the local community.

We are well-established and very proud of our Somerset and West Country roots. We feel it is important for us to play an active part in our community, which is why we always use local suppliers wherever possible. We also like to work with other local professionals in business community. We are willing, if not always successful, participants in the Bath League de Petanque (managed by The Bath Grand Cru Petanque Club)!

Tied in with this is our commitment to sustainability. We are able to recommend a range of sustainable investment funds to our clients, and in turn those funds invest in companies whose products and services have a positive impact on society. For example, this could include a focus on renewable energy like wind farms or solar power. We therefore try to walk the talk, and as a business make a conscious effort to reduce waste, reuse and recycle wherever we can. We try to reduce our use of paper by printing as few documents as possible, in favour of using electronic versions of documents which we know many of our clients prefer.

We also like to raise money for charity, and in December 2019 with the generous support of our clients at our new office open evening, we raised funds for Pancreatic Cancer Action. We review the charities we support from time to time. In May 2020, during the first Covid-19 lockdown, we raised money for the Bowel & Cancer Research charity by each walking, running or cycling 2.6 miles each day. We have also raised money, through various activities and the generous support of our clients, for childcare charity First Steps Bath, the national Centrepoint charity which aims to end youth homelessness, and Siblings United, a small local charity that provides support for the brothers and sisters of children with cancer.

2025 Charity

Our chosen charity for 2025 is Dorothy House Hospice, based in Bradford-on-Avon, which provides palliative and end of life care to adults with a progressive, treatable but not curable life-limiting illness or with severe frailty, and also their family (including children) and carers. They care for people across an 800sq mile catchment area which covers Bath & North East Somerset and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset.

Dorothy House aim to make sure that anyone in their community who is facing a life-limiting illness can live well, and die well. For more information go to www.dorothyhouse.org.uk and if you would like to make a donation please visit our JustGiving page.

Thank you very much for your generous support.
